16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence
25 November - 10 December annually
The 16 Days of Activism incorporates the Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women campaign which began in 2012. The 16 Days of Activism runs from 25 November to 10 December every year. The Zonta Club of Gawler, along with the Gawler Domestic Violence Network, aims to raise awareness of the need to end violence against women and girls. We host a number of free public events and we invite you to join us. Wear something orange! We also put up posters, flags, banners and yarn bombing around Gawler to highlight the importance of stopping gender based violence. The colour of the campaign is Orange to represent a brighter future free from gender based violence. For further information about the 16 Days of Activism campaign, visit the UN Women website here.
Below are the events we held in 2025. The Gawler Community Fun Day – ‘Men Leading Change’ was awarded the Australia Day Community Event of the Year by the Town of Gawler.
