Spreading the Reading Bug

Promoting and advocating for books to be read at home, encouraging parents to support early literacy as an important part of their child's development. Through broad community involvement of donated books, the Club distributes free pre-loved books to children from ages of birth to twelve years.

STEM Scholarships

A one year STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) scholarship is offered to a Year 12 female student at Gawler & District College, Trinity College and Xavier College to assist with the additional costs associated with her studies.

Women's Studio

This project provides opportunities for senior and isolated women in the local community to experience art through active participation on workshops, in partnership with the Gawler Community House. Additionally, women in aged care are provided with opportunities to engage in conversations about works of art, explore ideas and stimulate interaction in support of well being and care of senior women.

Women of Achievement

This program celebrates the achievements of local women and young women through a biennial award. Three categories are celebrated: Visionary Leader; Mentor; and Community Worker with an award in each category for both women and young women.

Community Involvement

In addition to our specific Zonta projects, we are involved with other Gawler Service Clubs in hosting and organising the International Women's Day breakfast, the Australia Day Breakfast, Gawler Reconciliation Fun day and we have several Club members who have trained as volunteers at the Haven, Gawler's Women's Information Service.
